Thanks for visiting!  I am a late-night, after work, library student cook living in Chicago.  I’m no food expert, just a novice who’s willing to try anything and loves cooking, eating and drinking with friends.  I am particularly interested in thinking about the ways food fosters community and brings people together.  My hope is that as more people become interested in making food and slow down to truly enjoy, savor and taste their food, we can all learn to connect the things we are eating to the people and places they come from and to connect with one another in these processes of growing, buying, cooking, sharing and eating food.  My favorite food things are soups, cheese, bread, seafood, chocolate, pie, beer and wine.  I might not live forever, but “may you live everyday of your life” (Jonathan Swift).
